Double Digits for my Baby!

My baby girl turned 10, I can't believe it!  She had a great day at school and fun having Aunt Lisa and family over for dinner.

The next weekend she had a party with friends complete with pizza, making cookies, lots of giggles, a pinata, movie, and more giggles with a few girls spending the night.  Such an easy group to entertain!

Happy Birthday to our Evelyn!  A few of the things we love about you:

  • Your obsession with big-eyed stuffed animals
  • Sweet smile
  • Love of school, especially math
  • Ability to get along with just about everyone you meet
  • Talkative nature
  • Enthusiastic nature, everything's the best (even my cooking-hah!)
  • Love of nature
  • Great sister
We love you Evelyn!

Family Pictures 2018

Another year of family pictures is in the books.  I think we picked the one night in September that Colorado decided to rain (what is that wet stuff trying to ruin pictures?).  Thankfully we had about 30 dry minutes to capture some smiles and family togetherness.  The girls keep growing older and more beautiful while Eric and I just seem to get older--hah!

Daddy's little girls forever!

Maybe next year Rachel or Elizabeth really will be taller than me, they still aren't yet!

Fall in Colorado

It snowed just the other day but before that, we were able to enjoy the beautiful fall colors Colorado provides.  Almost a month ago we went up to Kenosha pass after soccer games and enjoyed the yellow aspens.

On the way home we stopped off by the stream to relax

A week and a half ago Rachel had a soccer tournament in Vail and Rachel, Evelyn, and I were the only ones that went up as Eric stayed with Elizabeth for a cross country meet.  The soccer was okay but the setting filled my nature heart to overflowing.  I wanted to walk the river trail all day long.  Evelyn and I had some fun exploring.

I call this one the tunnel of yellow, wish I had a better camera to capture it.

After the games were done, we spent a lovely afternoon at Betty Ford Botanical garden since we loved it so much two years ago in the summer.  It did not disappoint!

This was a new branch "sculpture" the girls loved running around in.

Back to School x3!

At the beginning of summer it always feels like the days will just stretch on and on for 10 weeks and then by the time August comes around it's like, where did the days go?  As you can see we had a pretty good summer and the girls were mostly looking forward to the start of school.  Elizabeth was probably the most nervous as she was starting high school (!!!!) as a 9th grader. Rachel is all by herself in middle school in 7th grade and Evelyn is the oldest at elementary school in 5th grade.  I'm not too excited about three different schools with three different start and end times but so far it's worked out okay.  Per tradition, our start of school photos.

How they really felt about school starting--anxious, SO excited, excited.

Here is to a fabulous year of learning and quiet time for mama :)
