Rachel Walkin' and Talkin'

Alicia caught this video because it captures three cute things Rachel is doing now:
1. Talking on the cell phone (I'll be surprised if our kids recognize regular phones)
2. Scooting down the stairs super quick
3. Waving bye-bye and trying to say it.

Happy New Year!

We had a very relaxing Christmas Eve/3 year birthday celebration for Elizabeth and Christmas day. Rachel didn't quite get unwrapping presents as she got stuck on one toy and Elizabeth wanted to play with everything once she opened it. We did manage to open everything and followed the Bartholomew tradition of watching as many new movies as possible.

Here's the girls in their Christmas dresses posing in front of the tree. Elizabeth wouldn't take the picture without one of her many baby dolls.

Elizabeth getting ready to open her birthday presents. I was good and even wrapped them in birthday wrapping paper.

Rachel's not too sure about the whole unwrapping presents thing. Mom, stop the torture :)

Just wanted to post some pictures from our outing to Hocking Hills this past week. We stayed in a cabin; don't worry, it was heated and even had satellite TV which is more than we can boast of at home. There was an indoor and outdoor fireplace so Eric practiced his dutch oven skills and we roasted some marshmallows. The scenery was beautiful and it almost felt like we were in the mountains instead of the rolling hills of Ohio. It was beautiful and we'll have to go back when it's springtime so we can see a little more green.

Mommy & Elizabeth our little hiker posing in front of Cedar Falls. She walked pretty much the whole time and loved the waterfalls. Every bridge we crossed was a troll bridge like in Dora and she loved counting stairs.

Eric carrying Rachel in our hiking backpack. She liked it so much that she fell asleep on two of our mini-hikes. Each route was no more than a mile which was perfect with the kids. The cave is called Ash Cave and was pretty big. It reminded me of Mesa Verde except without the Indian dwellings. The waterfall is Upper Falls right by Old Man's Cave which Hocking Hills is known for. I think it may rival something in the Sierras, don't you dad?
