Happy Halloween!

Today is officially Halloween but all our Halloween celebrations ended after last night, not like we didn't have plenty. Call Ohio weird, but they hold "Beggars Night" on a different night than Halloween and each city around here picks its own night. Ours was last night, October 30. The weather was really nice getting in the high 60s during the day and only a little chilly in the evening. Eric took the girls out trick-or-treating on our street and came back with their loot as we watched all the other trick-or-treaters. Here are some pictures of our little cuties. Elizabeth is a fairy princess and Rachel is a butterfly.

Those don't go with your costume.

They really are having a good time although Rachel was unsure of the whole handing her bag and getting candy thing.

Here is our other princess fairy costume Elizabeth wore to our MOMS Club Halloween party. We just couldn't get enough Halloween!
Wherever we are, Rachel loves to curl up with a good book.

Try a Truck Day

Who says trucks are just for boys? I don't know who but we went to a local Try a Truck Day where city maintenance brought out lots of trucks and machinery for kids to climb on. The girls loved the school bus, here's Elizabeth driving and riding. I think she's ready for school!
They also liked the backhoe, both driving and sitting in the digging part.

Busted. I couldn't convince the policeman to take Elizabeth down to the station.
Here they both are with their construction hats ready to go out on a Gator.

Pictures of the Girls

Since we haven't been up to all that much lately, I thought I'd post some pictures of the girls that I have on the camera.

Here's Elizabeth building the Great Wall of Pillows. She loves to take all the pillows in the house and arrange them.

While Eric was away, I took the kids to the Columbus Zoo on a Saturday to get out of the house. Here they are outside the aquarium posing on a stingray.

They have a petting zoo there too and the girls love to get up close and personal with the goats--grooming them with brushes and combs.

We went camping again Sep 28-29 at Buck Creek State Park. The girls loved sitting with mom by the fire after eating some yummy monkey bread dad had made in his dutch oven. It was a little cold overnight but nice during the day so we went on a little "hike" around the lake and saw a regional cross country meet which took me back a few years to when I ran CC.
Ride 'em cowboy! The girls love climbing on daddy and riding on his back.

This picture was taken today, yes October 8, 2007. It was 90 degrees (almost as hot as Phoenix) so I had to let the girls get a final swim of the year. Maybe we'll get a little bit of autumn before winter settles in.
Here's Rachel sitting and "reading" to herself. She'll do this for up to a half an hour at a time and it's really cute. The noise at the end is the toaster done with its toast.
